Welcome to the SRA Newsletter, we hope you will find it informative and entertaining. Our goal is to share with our customers ~ information, featuring articles from SRA and others that will share their knowledge and expertise, any new products, specials that are going on and any news regarding the essential oil trade.

2. Starting the New Year.

Today we had our first real snow fall. The quiet beauty of snow.
The bitter cold days (for those of us in the North) of January have arrived.
A new year beginning to unfold. The lakes are frozen, the gardens are asleep.
Its that quiet time of year .. to reflect.

This is a time of quiet contemplation, long evenings staying cozy and warm. A time some of us enjoy doing handcrafts or to read that book you have been to busy for in the warmer months.

As the lengthening days of January draw to a close, with the magnificent sunsets, we enjoy the warmth and comfort of our home. The strange perfume of the paper-white narcissus blooming on the window still mingles with the scent of wood smoke, and the flowers even now beneath the frozen crust of earth are beginning to stir.

4. Book Review: Carrier Oils for Aromatherapy & Massage
by Len Price with Ian Smith & Shirley Price

This book is now divided into sections, the first explains the chemistry of fixed oils. The second section gives the properties and uses of 42 vegetable carrier oils, and third section containing useful tables, glossary and comprehensive index.

This book is aimed at all complementary therapists to give them a fuller knowledge and understanding of the therapeutic possibilities of the carrier oils they may wish to use for treatment. Essential oils can be added to enhance the properties of the carrier oil selected for treatment.
