2. Planet Promenade ~ Beauty in the Heavens

Five planets will line up in the western sky at dusk throughout April and May. The planet cluster will huddle closest on May 14.

The five brightest planets visible from Earth have lined up to form a spectacular celestial array that will NOT be seen again until 2040.

Through the next 3 weeks, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Saturn & Venus will appear tightly clustered in the Western sky. They will be visible in the evening.

Each evening, the alignment will assume different shapes, as the five planets take their orbital paths around the sun. The planets orbit in the same place, like grooves in a phonograph record, only at different distances from the sun.

This is the nature of the clockwork of the solar system. We like to think of it as a way to remind people there is a simple beauty in the heavens that doesn't require any special training.

Astronomers say there is no astronomical significance to this line up.

When looking in the night sky the line up is as follows:

Closest to Earth is Mercury, then Venue, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter (closest to the Sun). View at dusk looking into the western sky.

3. Thank you to David Oller ~ Incense Workshop

The Japanese 'Kodo' Ceremony that David presented here was just a wonderful and informative experience.

To quote Gail Adrian 'It is one thing to read about David's incense presentations, and quite another to be in his presence. He is warm, knowledgeable and inspiring. (Not to mention very funny!)'

Comments from David: 'Another thought I would like to share is that Kodo, much like Zen, and many other traditions, may have something of a life of it's own. I think many of the rituals in Kodo bring forth a particular mindfulness, and relationship with the entire group.

I think the ability of the people attending to come into true relationship with each other is what really makes a Kodo party work, and that's what I saw happening in New York. I think any of you could have done the presentation and it would be as good or better.

Hopefully the people who came will share Kodo with others, and they will share with others, and it will bring this peaceful relationship into the lives of many.'

And so, those of you who have business and have an opportunity to invite David to your area, your clients will truly benefit from it. With hands on experience the joy of makko or Kodo incense burning is wonderful.
