From the Cookson Report:
Typhoons in Asia, and hurricanes & floods in the
America's are creating major turmoil.
The damage in Florida has still not been fully
assessed. Early estimates suggest that half to two-
thirds of the Florida grapefruit crop has been ruined
by hurricane Frances (not to mention Ivan & Jeanne).
Given that Florida is by far the world's largest
producer of grapefruits, big problems lie ahead for
grapefruit oil buyers.
We don't wish to belabor the problems with this oil
but it is important to highlight how the supply
position is being impacted from every direction: *
The hurricanes have destroyed a good percentage of
the fruit in Florida. (60%-80% is mentioned). *
Root systems of trees in Florida may have been
damaged from being submerged in water. * Cuba
sustained considerable hurricane damage * Oil
from California will not be available until May
2005. * Israel will have new crop oil in the new
year but the quantity (and quality) cannot begin to
replace the shortfall in Florida. * Orange Oil:
Trucking is the latest problem facing Florida
processors, so many trucks are needed to clear
debris and attend to the hurricane clean up
etc. * Balsam Peru: Heavy rains have hampered
the collection of this product.

<<<<<<<<<<< And so it goes, we do not realize
the effect 'Mother Nature' has on plant life. The next
few months should prove interesting as to availability
and pricing.
The kids are settling into the new school year, the
autumn leaves are starting to show their glorious
colors, the smell of wood burning in the fireplace is in
the air. The days are starting to get shorter and the
nights chillier.
There is something so cozy about the months ahead.
Apple picking, baking apple pies, and make apple
sauce. Pumpkin picking and Halloween is around the
corner.
The cold/sinus/sniffle season seems to be starting a
bit earlier this year. Be sure to visit our Specials page for those oils needed for
combating the wintery woes.
