To my Mom, who had made so many many things
possible for me in this lifetime, though you are not here
in the physical plane with me, you are
forever in my heart. You are truly missed, more than
words can ever express.
We do not realize the love, care, nurturing, and
sacrifices Mothers do for their children. Thru the years
I have watched my dearest friends raise their families,
sharing the joy and yes, sorrows of Motherhood.
The 'Divine Feminine' dating back to the earliest
Mother's Day celebrations of the ancient Greeks in
honor of Rhea, the Mother of the Gods.
Mother's Day was first suggested here in the USA in
1872 by Julia Ward Howe (she wrote the words to the
Battle Hymn of the Republic) as a day dedicated to
peace. She would hold a Mother's Day meeting in
Boston every year. However, it was not until President
Woodrow Wilson, in 1914, made the official
announcement proclaiming Mother's Day as a national
holiday that was to be held each year on the 2nd
Sunday of May.
This is also a day, that women throughout the world
should be honored. The Divine Feminine, a day to
celebrate, honor and thank the Mother Goddess.
The Mother Goddess is usually associated with grains
and fruit, the Earth, the Full Moon, Water, Fire,
creativity, fertility and protection. A special day, set
aside to take the time, to honor the Mother Goddess for
all the things you have, for your creativity, the food
you have to eat and the safe places you have in your
life.
To me, it is also a time to think of the wonderful women
in my life. They are so brave and strong, compassionate
and loving, intelligent and nurturing.
And also, to honor yourself! The Divine Feminine
within!
Happy Mother's Day to all the women of the planet.
