Essential Oil News / FDA
Try phrases like: dramatic savings, clearance,
overstocked, reduced rates, buy 1 get 1 free, treat
yourself, you deserve it, and don't miss out.
The FDA has been causing some upheaval in the
essential oil trade here in the USA. Wintergreen &
Sweet Birch are the targets at the moment. One of
our Essential oil friends, Marge over at Nature's Gift
has been put on notice that her labeling / bottling of
these essential oils are not acceptable to them.
She has removed them from her site (SunRose has as
well), submitted her new 'label' and Child resistant
caps, and awaiting the final judgment.
Consumer safety is always first and most of the
essential oil companies that we know are very diligent
in posting any cautions.
All this to say, I am getting samples of 'Child
Resistant' caps, contacting the printer to create a
folded information label that will attach to the label.
We have the euro orifice already and tamper proof
caps.
This new label on the bottles will include, where
applicable:
>(i.e. for Sweet Birch & Wintergreen)
*** Contains methyl salicylate. ***
~~ CAUTION - HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED. IRRITANT.
~~
* Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
* If
swallowed, give water and call physician
immediately.
* In case of contact with eyes or
skin, flush thoroughly with water.
* For eyes, get
medical attention.
* Keep out of the reach of
children & pets.
This on top of the label currently on our bottles.
