About SunRose Aromatics
My journey with essential oils has been amazing, and continues to be the source of my passion and joy. It is an honor for SunRose to provide our customers with these healing materials. Whenever possible, we source our products directly from the farmers and distillers who create them. This has allowed us to build strong relationships with our growers over the last 25 plus years.
In 2013, we relocated SunRose Aromatics from our home of 57 years in Bronx, New York to our farm here in Belmont, Maine. It is our sacred ground. In the years since our move, we have been planting more and more each season. We're very excited right now about the thirty elderberries we planted! In the future, the flowers and berries from these trees will be offered through our catalog.
We have also been building "hugelkultur" beds for our herbs: Elecampane, Echinacea, Foxglove, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Lemon Thyme, Lemon Balm, Yarrow, Valerian, and assorted Mints including: Chocolate Mint, Spearmint, Peppermint. Yes, indeed.... herbs are the soul of the earth and we are growing them naturally with organic compost that we are making ourselves.
Growing wild here on the farm: burdock, comfrey, usnea, golden rod, mullein, clover!!! And so much we have not discovered yet!
And lets not forget the chickens (or the girls as we lovingly call them). They are a source of joy!!! And there is nothing like fresh eggs. Who would have thought?!
Following our life's dream has been incredible scary and rewarding. We took that "leap of faith" and never looked back. Every day... I say my gratitude prayer for the opportunity to live here on the farm.
